Production of Subjectivity in Modern Imagery

My ongoing visual projects involve the use of images that populate the internet landscape and its hysterical transformation.


These projects are partially driven by my research on algorithms, computer-generated imagery and how they could relate to the viewer, establishing a new dialogue between these images and the viewer.


I explore and use as material selected medias relevant to the current online imagery eco system and its impact on the viewer.


Is mass art produced by virtue of the fact it’s online and easily accessible. How has mass art changed because of this development of instantly reproducible imagery? Has it always been about mimicry and repetition? If so how has the process of mimicry and repetition smoothed itself out?


I reflect on the world today using contemporary digital media to not just talk about the media itself, but to regain understanding of its impact and systems around us.

The Rietveld Academie offers extra theoretical lectures “the Studium Generale” on Wednesdays. The lectures are in English or Dutch. Participation at the Studium Generale is recommended, but not required for DOGtime students.Studium Generale
Op woensdagmiddag verzorgt de Rietveld Academie een theoretische lezingen serie: de Studium Generale. De lezingen zijn in het Engels of Nederlands. Deelname aan de Studium Generale wordt aanbevolen, maar is voor DOGtime studenten niet verplicht.

DOGtime classes
DOGtime classes take place during the evening from 18:45 till 21:45 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. All classes within the DOGtime education can be bilingual (Dutch and English). It is therefore important to have sufficient knowledge of both English and Dutch. For foreign students the Rietveld Academie offers Dutch language course.DOGtime lessen
De DOGtime lessen worden ‘s avonds tussen 18.45 en 21.45 gegeven op maandag, dinsdag, woensdag en donderdag. Alle lessen binnen de DOGtime opleiding kunnen tweetalig gegeven worden (Nederlands en Engels). Het is daarom belangrijk om naast Nederlands, over voldoende kennis van het Engels te beschikken. Voor buitenlandse studenten biedt de Rietveld Academie een cursus Nederlands aan.
